The story

The Long Museum Pudong (龙美术馆(浦东馆), Lóng Měishùguǎn Pǔdōng Guǎn) is a private art museum at No. 210, Lane 2255, Luoshan Road (罗山路2255弄210号) in Pudong. Check before you travel: sources disagree on whether it is open at all. For a dependable visit to the Long Museum, most people will want its sister site, the Long Museum West Bund (龙美术馆西岸馆), which has its own page on this site.

Is it open? The picture is unclear. A September 2026 visitor guide says the Pudong museum opens only on the first Tuesday of each month, from 10:00 to 17:30, with free admission. The travel platform Ctrip lists it as temporarily closed, with no reopening date. A 2019 post gave ordinary Tuesday-to-Sunday hours, which is probably out of date. The museum’s own website could not be loaded when this entry was written, so none of these hours are official. Telephone the museum or check its official channels before going.

What it is. Liu Yiqian and his wife Wang Wei, the collectors who founded the Long Museum, opened this branch to the public on 18 December 2012. English Wikipedia names it as one of the Long Museum’s two Shanghai sites; the other is the West Bund museum. The Pudong building was designed by Zhong Song (仲松) and has about 10,000 square metres of floor space.

What is inside. One guide describes a three-level layout: contemporary Chinese art on the ground floor, a permanent display of Mao-era “Red Classics” (works dating from 1949 to 1979) on the second floor, and traditional paintings and ancient artefacts on the third. Displays change over time, so treat this as a general outline rather than a promise of what is on view.

Getting there. The address is in the Huamu area of Pudong, east of the Lujiazui towers. Some listings point to Huamu Road station on Line 7 and describe a walk of around 15 minutes. That comes from third-party listings, not from the museum, so check it on a map. Show the Chinese address on this page to a taxi driver if you go by car.

Which Long Museum? The museum has two Shanghai sites, and online listings often mix them up. Hours, ticket prices and exhibitions quoted for the West Bund site do not apply here. The West Bund site, on the Huangpu riverfront in Xuhui, is the one with regular opening hours in current listings.
