Palmer & Turner

公和洋行

Hong Kong architectural practice, in Shanghai from 1912 as 公和洋行; designed more Bund buildings than any other firm, including HSBC and Sassoon House.

Palmer & Turner (公和洋行, Gōnghé Yángháng) is a Hong Kong architectural practice whose origins go back to an office opened there in 1868; it took the names of partners Clement Palmer and Arthur Turner in the 1890s. The firm opened a Shanghai branch in 1912 under George Wilson and adopted the Chinese name 公和洋行. Over the next 25 years it designed more of the Bund than any other practice, including the Yangtze Insurance, Glen Line, HSBC, Chartered Bank and Yokohama Specie Bank buildings, Sassoon House and, with Luke Him Sau, the Bank of China. It continues today as P&T Group.
